Postdoctoral Researcher

Additive Manufacturing & Non conventional Manufacturing Processes

Biography

Lazaros Emmanouil Papazoglou graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the School of Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2016. In 2018, he obtained a Master's Degree (MSc) on "Materials Science and Technology" from the School of Chemical Engineering, NTUA (ranked 1st with scholarship). In 2022, he successfully defended his Doctoral Dissertation entitled "Methodology for microscale modeling of the SLM process by using FEM", conducted under the supervision of Professor Angelos P. Markopoulos.

During his doctoral studies (2019–2022), he was awarded a scholarship for PhD candidates by the NTUA Research Committee (ELKE NTUA). His research interests focus on materials science, non-conventional machining processes (EDM, AWJ, Laser Machining), and the design and manufacturing of components through Additive Manufacturing methods. He possesses solid expertise in computational and numerical methods for process modelling, as well as in the application of statistical methods for the analysis of experimental and computational results.

His work has been published in international scientific journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters, while he also serves as a regular reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. He currently works as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Chemical Engineering, NTUA, and as an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA.
