Iakovos-Fanourios (Jacob) Kritikos is a Ph.D. candidate at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), focusing on zero-power event-driven sensing systems, smart energy harvesting, and nanomaterials.
He holds an Integrated Master's in Mechanical Engineering from NTUA (2017-2022), graduating in the top 5% of his class.
Bridging research and deep-tech innovation, Jacob is the Co-founder, CEO, and Mechanical Design Lead of Lysitron, a dynamic engineering firm delivering advanced projects across the optics, semiconductors, biotech, and industrial sectors. Through his firm, he collaborates with top-tier AI companies on data center R&D and has previously partnered with imec's expert team on complex semiconductor and microfluidic integration.
Jacob brings extensive experience driving product innovation within both agile start-ups and highly regulated medtech environments. At PhosPrint, he designed systems for in-vivo and ex-vivo bioprinting and participated in the redesign of a Class III clinical-grade bioprinting device to achieve CE marking and pass rigorous testing for entering phase I clinical trials.
Furthermore, he collaborates with various innovative tech companies to steer new technologies from the proof-of-concept stage to functional Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). His technical and managerial expertise is reinforced by his past leadership role at Sarcura, where he directed a cross-functional team in integrated semiconductor microfluidics design and data analysis for complex medical devices.
